Atmospheric Sciences Ascent Award

Basic Information

Established in 2012, the Atmospheric Sciences Ascent Award is given annually to four exceptional, mid-career scientists in the atmospheric and climate sciences fields, who demonstrate excellence in research and leadership. Eligible candidates have been awarded the degree of Ph.D. (or highest equivalent terminal degree) between 8 to 20 years prior to 1 January of the year of the award presentation.

CITATION/SCOPE STATEMENT

For mid-career scientists in the atmospheric and climate sciences fields, who demonstrate excellence in research and leadership.

  • Complimentary ticket to the Atmospheric Sciences section dinner at the AGU Fall Meeting during the award presentation year
  • Recognition at the AGU Fall Meeting during the award presentation year
