Fred L. Scarf Award

Basic Information

Established in 1989, the F.L. Scarf Award is given annually to one honoree in recognition of an outstanding dissertation that contributes directly to solar-planetary science. The Scarf awardee is required to deliver an invited talk on his/her dissertation topic at the AGU Fall Meeting.

Eligible candidates have been awarded the degree of Ph.D. (or highest equivalent terminal degree) and have completed their degree requirements during the 17-month time period prior to the award presentation year (1 July 2015–31 December 2016).

CITATION/SCOPE STATEMENT

For outstanding dissertation that contributes directly to solar-planetary science.
