Ivan I. Mueller Award for Distinguished Service and Leadership is given annually to one honoree in recognition of major achievements in service and/or leadership to the geodesy community.
The Mueller Award acknowledges major achievements beyond scientific and research contributions. In particular, awardees have a body of work that enhances the visibility of geodesy within AGU as well as within the international associated bodies. This award encompasses all areas of geodesy, including: (1) exceptional performance in fieldwork, (2) the development and maintenance of major software systems, (3) the leadership of scientific initiatives, education and public outreach, and (4) a variety of other service and leadership achievements.
This award is named in honor of past AGU Fellow and AGU Smith medalist, Ivan I. Mueller, for his major contribution to international programs that advanced geodesy over the past half century.
