James R. Holton Award

Basic Information

Established in 2004, the James R. Holton Award is given annually to one honoree in recognition of outstanding scientific research and accomplishments of early career scientists in the field. Eligible candidates have been awarded the degree of Ph.D. (or highest equivalent terminal degree) in the three-year period prior to 1 January of the year of the award presentation. This award is named in honor of past AGU Revelle medalist, James R. Holton – an outstanding atmospheric scientist, educator, and mentor.

CITATION/SCOPE STATEMENT

For recognition of outstanding scientific research and accomplishments of early career scientists in the field.
