Yoram J. Kaufman Unselfish Cooperation in Research Award

Basic Information

Established in 2008, the Yoram J. Kaufman Unselfish Cooperation in Research Award is given annually to one scientist, who is in the advanced stage of her/his career, in recognition of broad influence in atmospheric science through exceptional creativity, inspiration of younger scientists, mentoring, international collaborations, and unselfish cooperation in research. This award is named in honor of Yoram J. Kaufman, an outstanding atmospheric scientist, mentor, and creator of international collaborations who worked on atmospheric aerosols and their influence on the Earth’s climate for his entire 30-year career.

CITATION/SCOPE STATEMENT

For recognition of broad influence in atmospheric science through exceptional creativity, inspiration of younger scientists, mentoring, international collaborations, and unselfish cooperation in research.

  • $1,000 monetary prize (international recipients receive an additional $500 for travel support to attend the AGU Fall Meeting during the award presentation year)
