Africa Award for Research Excellence in Space Science Early Career Active AGU member (1) Open to the public, (2) nominee must be a citizen or permanent resident of countries on the African continent, and (3) nominee must be no more than 10 years beyond receiving their Ph.D. or highest equivalent terminal degree achieved on 1 January of the year of presentation from an African institution.

Nomination Eligibility

Nomination Requirements

Your nomination package should contain the following files, which should be no more than two (2) pages in length per document:
  1. Nomination letter;
  2. Nominee’s curriculum vitae;
  3. Nominee’s selected bibliography with a brief introductory summary (i.e., no more than one paragraph);
  4. A required total of three (3) letters of support (total does not include nomination letter). Please refer to the AGU Conflict of Interest Policy prior to selecting supporters.
*Please note that the Education, International and Spilhaus awards do not require a selected bibliography as part of the nomination process. Only complete packages will be forwarded to their respective selection committees for review. Nomination Submission

Union Awards, Medals, and Prize nominations can be submitted by using the online submission system. If a nomination package requires revising, please send us the revised document(s) electronically, in either .pdf or .doc format to the Honors Program: agu_unionhonors@agu.org.
